It's all about the kids.

The students have all asked Susan to stay at Abraxas. Funding requests have been made and the students asked that their thoughts be shared in the hopes that their words would encourage the donors to "fill the coffers!"

"At some point in every person's life there comes that mysterious meeting in life where someone acknowledges who we are and what we can be...igniting the circuits of our highest potential - You, Susan, are that person for me."

Lauren, Abraxas High School

"From my own point of view, the work that she does for the kids at Abraxas is the type of work I would like to see more of. What she does is unique. From small talk that brings big ideas to the people, the knowledge that she shares is the type that a person can take with him for the future. That is why her teaching is so important."

Armando, Abraxas High School

"On an educational level, Susan is mentally stimulating and isn't that what school should be all about? On an emotional level, she's strong and moral. She's wonderful to be around! I can honestly say her presence is what makes me want to come to school. Otherwise I would have no motivation. She's definitely one who molds people into independent and thoughtful individuals. Definitely a life saver!"

Jessica, Abraxas High School

"It's hard to really put my finger on what exactly it is about Coyote Youth English that's important, but I do know that I enjoy the class and I look forward to this part of the day. The class helps with writing skills and keep us up on current events. The class is held outside, in a comfortable and relaxing environment. I would have to say that if she leaves, then I would miss this class."

Andy, Abraxas High School

A few more comments:

"When it is time for class, I get excited. The discussions make my mind expand and when I go home from school I am still thinking about what was discussed."

"Susan is full of energy and she is thought provoking.'

"She brings life to our class and opens our minds."

"She teaches in a way that students want to take their future in their hands and move in a forward direction."

"She enables students to realize their potential."

"She helps teens and our issues everyday. She is easy to talk to."

"She walks around with a smile that's contagious."

"I like Coyote Youth because she speaks to us as adults and we get to answer questions honestly without worrying about being criticized".

"Teens actually listen to her!"

"We love her! And, we'll miss her."
