Diverse Teaching Requires Diverse Partners

In 2009 Backyard Tourist received a donation from Qualcomm, Inc, San Diego County.

From 2001 - 2006 working in conjunction with the Poway Unified School District, Poway City Council, Poway Chamber of Commerce, George Plescia, State Assemblyman, Brian Maienschein, San Diego City Council member, Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary, Los Rancheros Kiwanis Club and San Diego County Parks and Recreation, Backyard Tourist, Inc. provided unique outdoor educational programs, for students enrolled in the Poway Unified School District.

As a leading San Diego educational organization in environmental concern and activism, Backyard Tourist Inc believes that "Our Earth is too precious to lose." Membership dues help provide additional funding to pursue important environmental issues and fund programs. Donations to Backyard Tourist are tax-deductible.

Tom Dyke (Tom Dyke Drilling and Blasting) was the first to donate to Backyard Tourist. His generosity stunned us! We will be forever grateful to him!

We would also like to thank the Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary for their donations to the Coyote Youth Project. They were the first club to believe in us and what we wanted to do for the kids! .

Thanks also to the Los Rancheros Kiwanis for their generous grant, the Freedom Award, that provided the resources for the Coyote Youth Project to continue to make a difference for the students of Abraxas High School..

With continued support of our community partners and the future donations of other corporations and community organizations, we hope to expand our programs throughout all of San Diego County.
