Making a difference
We have become a nation addicted to comfort.
Asked to live a more simple lifestyle, walk gently on the Earth, consume less, we panic.
Yet, learn how to provide for the basic needs of survival: shelter, water, fire and food, and you realize that what you fear losing the most, you don't need anyway!
It is time to be aware of our fragile environment and how everything we do affects the planet for years to come. Make positive choices that will ensure that our children and their children's children will live and walk in beauty. Take simple steps to make a difference. Stop using those plastic bags and encourage your local districts to ban them from the markets.
Cleaning up the planet, one bag at a time:
According to Ecobags, "90 billion plastics bags are used by Americans annually. Worldwide, an estimated 4 billion plastic bags end up as litter each year. Tied end to end, that’s enough to circle the earth 63 times." By substituting plastic shopping bags with the ECOBAGS® “Eco-System” the average shopper can save a small corner of the planet.
San Francisco's Board of Supervisors has voted to become the first U.S. city to ban plastic bags from large supermarkets to help promote recycling. Read the story.
And do check out Citizens for Rideable Communities. This organization is dedicated to encouraging the use of alternative forms of transportation. Through Education and Legislation, their commitment to reducing societies' dependency on fossil fuels will benefit generations to come.
